Ragga-Dis combines Jamaican ragga dancehall with the latest crazes of Afrodisco! The Fest Afrika week should be ended in a party mood: there will be fun dance moves from the streets of African cities and rootsy ragga.

The class fits dancers of all levels, but previous dance experience is useful. It’s good to wear sneakers for this class. See also the other classes and check prices in the workshop schedule.

Joe Kaiga

Joe Kaiga is an experienced teacher who has performed as break dancer, hip hop dancer, afro dancer and show dancer worldwide. Kaiga has been representing Kenya in various dance competitions, for example in the finals of Malibu World Dance. Nowadays he has his own dance school in Kotka. Read more: Shakedown Dance School

In this class we will dance traditional African dances from Kenya, where the teacher Joe Kaiga originally comes from. The class fits anyone interested in African dances, regardless of age and previous experience. Wear comfortable clothes, shoes are not needed. Reggaeton is the latest craze in Latin America, an urban dance style originally from Caribia. In reggaeton you can see influences from salsa as well as dancehall and hiphop. In this class you will get your body moving before the party at night!

Get the latest African moves for the night’s party at the Afrodisco class! Afrodisco combines moves from Africa’s various urban dance styles, such as coupé décalé, ndombolo ja azonto, whatever happens to be the thing at the moment.
