Fest Afrika’s 10th anniversary in July 2011!
The African dance and music festival Fest Afrika is organized in Tampere for the 10th time. The anniversary will be celebrated with workshops, concerts and now also an exhibition of African art. The festival events take place July 1.-9. and the art exhibition Colors under the sun – Värit auringon alla is open all July.

Children’s day
Koko perheelle avointa lasten päivää vietetään 7.7.2011 klo 15-18 Flamencoyhdistyksen salilla (Pirkankatu 1, käynti sisäpihalta), jolloin ohjelmassa on afrikkalaisia lauluja, tanssia, rummutusta ja askartelua. Lasten päivänä esiintyy myös Voodoo Land Band!

Seminar: Being and African musician in Finland
Fest Afrika ry and the University of Tampere (international research project Afroeurope@ns) collaborates in organizing a workshop seminar with the title ”Being an African musician in Finland” on Saturday, July 9th. In the seminar, invited researchers and musicians discuss the situation of African music in Finland.
