TI Boyz from Brasil is a jazz fusion trio presenting on stage guitar/vocals, saxophones and drums. The trio combines calypso and samba with African rhythms.
The Ridial Band is a multicultural group based in Helsinki. The band was founded by Senegalese Es-Ow and plays an energetic combination of afro rhythms, sounds and melodies combined with funk, reggae, hip hop, afro beat and jazz.

DJs of the evening will be Cliff, George MTV, Dj Nestar and Dj Fidelis.

TI Boyz from Brasil

TI Boyz from Brasil was founded in Finland but the band performs internationally playing fusion jazz. In Fest Afrika, we will see the trio on stage with guitar/vocals, saxophones and drums combining calypso and samba with African rhythms.

Es-ow & The Ridial Band

Es-ow is a Senegalese reggae and afro-pop artist who founded The Ridial Band in Helsinki together with other ambitious musicians from Senegal, Cameroon, Congo, Spain and Finland. The band’s music is an energetic blend of rhythms, sounds and melodies merging from the diverse afro roots of the band members as well as from funk, reggae, hip hop, afro beat and jazz. The songs are rooted in Es-ow’s ideology of equality between all people, search for justice and eagerness to help those in need, and are sung in English, Fula, Mandinga, Diola, Wolof, Spanish, and French.

Fest Afrika presents: Children’s concert and African bazaar at 12:00-18:00 on Sunday December 5th, 2021 in Tullikamari Pakkahuone

The traditional Fest Afrika’s children’s concert and African bazaar have free entry.

MACO OEY & MABADIRIKO BAND at 13:00-14:00

Maco Oey is a musician from Tampere who has published 8 solo albums. His latest album Siistii! was nominated for the Emmy Award in the children’s album category in 2020. All the songs are composed by Maco and the lyrics are by Jaakko Löytty. The songs tell fun stories about recycling, animals and inclusiveness, among other things. The songs are interesting, having changing rhythms varying from wild tunes to mellow ballads with imaginative arrangements. The songs bring joy as well as knowledge to children, and create an experience of togetherness. Janne

Elise-Juliette Njila came in second place in The Voice of Finland in the spring. She is a young rising star, whose powerful, encaptivating voice is full of soul.

Frankosun and The Family was founded by Beninese Franck Koumolou in Helsinki, and the bad combines Beninese and Nigerian afrobeat from the 1970’s and 1980’s with afro funk and afro rock.

Raappana is one of the most successful reggae artists in Finland. His music brings summer, no matter what the season.

Event Djs are Cliff, George MTV, Dj Nestar and Dj Fidelis.

Frankosun & The Family

Frankosun & The Family was founded in Helsinki by Franck Koumolou who comes from the voodoo heartland of Benin. Since 2013, the band has won over the hearts of its audiences again and again. The band’s music in a combination of Beninese and Nigerian afrobeat from the 1970’s and 1980’s and mellow afro funk and afro rock influences. Inspiration comes also from Koumolou’s native Nago people, as well as other Black rhythm music. The band gives a dance guarantee on very gig!

Raappana

Raappana is one of the most successful reggae artists in Finland whose music brings summer, no matter what the season. Since 2007, Raappana has published one mixtape and four studio albums, the latest being Ennen aamunkoittoo (2015). His newest single Kaunis on maa was published in August, 2020. Among Raappana’s extensive repertoire, his biggest hits include Maasta maahan, Kauas pois, and Chilii featured by Sini Yasemin.

Elise-Juliette

Elise-Juliette came in second place in The Voice of Finland this spring. She is a young rising star, whose powerful, encaptivating voice is full of soul. In the contest, she won over the hearts of music lovers not only with her voice but also with her strong charisma and stage presence. Elise-Juliette is from Vantaa and her roots are in Cameroon and Namibia.
