What is Fest Afrika?

Fest Afrika is an African Festival. Its main purpose is to present all kinds of African performing arts regardless of the backgrounds of the performers. The festival was founded in 2002 in Tampere, Finland.

Our objectives are to promote African performing arts and create awareness of African cultures, so that we can bring people together in a spirit of education and entertainment. This way, we promote multiculturalism and integration in Finland.

Fest Afrika festival consists of performances, workshops, seminars and exhibitions. We also cooperate with different associations promoting African cultures, development and fair trade.

The festival takes place in Tampere every summer. The festival also includes Fest Afrika Winter Jam.
