🇬🇧 Thirteen year old Mama Longhorn from Pori, Finland is spreading the
joyful message of rhythm music, intensified by ten wonderful musicians.
The starting points on the musical map of the band were afrobeat and
funk, but year by year and album by album the expression of Mama
Longhorn has expanded and deepened towards ever more distinctive and
imaginative spheres.
The fourth album of the Pori-based rhythm tank, the enchanting ”Extinct
But Still Alive” is released on January 19th, 2024. On the new album the
band is charting unexplored territories of rhythm music in many
directions, guided by Eeva Poijärvi’s voice dripping honey. The band
keeps finding feverish, dark, playful and psychedelic moods as the
components of their unique expression.
The earlier albums ”Enter the Rhythm Tank” (2014), ”Age Two” (2017) and
”Let It Run” (2021), added to numerous heated live performances in
different parts of Finland, have increased the reputation of Mama
Longhorn as one of the most vibrant names on the field of Finnish rhythm
music.

🇫🇮 Porilainen, 13-vuotias Mama Longhorn jakaa rytmimusiikin ilosanomaa
kymmenen hienon muusikon voimalla. Yhtyeen musiikkikartan alkupisteitä
olivat afrobeat ja funk, mutta vuosi vuodelta ja levy levyltä Mama
Longhornin ilmaisu on laajentunut ja syventynyt kohti yhä
omaperäisempiä ja mielikuvituksellisempia sfäärejä.
Porilaisen rytmitankin neljäs albumi, kiehtova ”Extinct But Still
Alive” ilmestyy 19. tammikuuta 2024. Uudella levyllä yhtye kartoittaa
rytmimusiikin tutkimatonta maastoa monessa suunnassa Eeva Poijärven
hunajaa tihkuvan lauluäänen luotsaamana. Yhtye löytää kiihkeitä,
tummia, leikkisiä ja psykedeelisiä sävyjä omaleimaisen ilmaisunsa
osatekijöiksi.
Aiemmat levyt ”Enter the Rhythm Tank” (2014), ”Age Two” (2017) ja ”Let
It Run” (2021) sekä lukuisat huimat live-esiintymiset eri puolilla
Suomea ovat kartuttaneet Mama Longhornin mainetta yhtenä suomalaisen
